Linens
Little Rooms by carlee stocks linen from a variety of companies accross many price groups. To prepare for baby you will need to stock your nursery with bassinet sheets, cot sheets, pram blankets/bunny rugs, cot blankets, muslin wraps, quilt covers and inners, mattress protectors and towels. A general rule for how many is three of everything - one in use, one in the wash and one spare. You usually need more of the wrap style of linen and less of the full blanket style. Wraps. These come in muslin for summer, waffle or jersy for spring/autumn and cotton/ flannellette or polar fleece for winter. Brands stocked include Living Textiles, Bubba Blue, Sweet Dreams and H&R as well as several minor companies. Bassinet Sheets - These are required for bassinets and cradles and you can just buy the fitted ones for the bottom or purchase a set with top and bottom sheets. If you have a cradle you need to choose size carefully to get the right fit. Brands stocked include Sweet Dreams, Living Textiles, Bubba Blue and H&R as well as several smaller labels. Cot Sheets - If you are buying a Boori or Gro corp cot you will need to make sure that your cot sheets will fit. Many of the cheaper brands do not fit the larger size cot of these brands. As a start you should have at least three sets of sheets. Many colours and designs are available to co ordinate with different themes and colour schemes. Pram Blankets/bunny rugs - these are heavier than a wrap and are used as a top layer over a baby who is either wrapped and needs extra warmth of used over a baby no longer using a wrap. They come in many different weights suited to all seasons, waffle, mini waffle, brushed cotton, cotton knit, jersey, velour, polar fleece, and cotton cellular. It is a good idea to select a cross section of weights to cover climate variations. Cot Blankets - As with the smaller size the variation of textures is vast. Brands carried include Living Textiles, Kidsline, H&R, Bubba Blue, Sweet Dreams, all having different designs and themes. Quilt Covers and Inners - While you will not use this item for a small baby to sleep it is lovely to have a co ordinated theme in your nursery and a cot quilt or doona makes a great play/kick rug on the floor in the first months. Later it is used for its intended purpose of warmth in a cot for a bigger baby. Many designer labels make quilt covers for cots including great designs from Treehouse, Freckles, Hiccups as well as the ranges from Living Textiles, Kidsliine, H & R and Sweet Dreams.
